Redsoxaholics is powered by the wonderful Red Sox blogging community. Since 2005, we’ve worked tirelessly building one of the most well-known and respected blogs covering the Boston Red Sox. Here at Redsoxaholics we are always searching for potential contributors to join our already established community of writers. If you’re a die-hard Red Sox fan and you think you have what it takes to be a writer for Redsoxaholics, we’d love to hear from you.
First, just a little bit about what we’re looking for. We take this writing thing pretty seriously, so you must be able to meet each of the following criteria–what we call ‘The Essentials’.
The Essentials
- Passion
It goes without saying that you have to love the Red Sox. Casual Sox fans need not apply. You likely watch every game, talk about it on Twitter, and have some writing experience. You’re sad when the season ends and get giddy when spring training starts. - Writing Ability
We don’t accept just anyone, so if you want to write for us, you need to be able to tell a story. Coherently. Succinctly. And able to hold a reader’s attention. If you’re not a journalism major, that’s ok, but just be able to write. - Commitment
If you want to write for us, please be serious about it. Don’t say you want to do it and decide that one week later it’s not your thing. We take the contributor evaluation process very seriously and you should too. Please don’t yank our chain.
What’s In It For Me?
Ahh…we’re glad you asked. If you’re here, you probably already know that Redsoxaholics is one of the most established Red Sox websites online. This means that we have a very broad reach–both in terms of page views and our large social media contingency. Many of our past writers have gone on to do some pretty cool things and that makes us proud.
- Exposure
Our reach will immediately catapult your name into the inboxes, twitter feeds and google news-streams of Red Sox fans everywhere. If your goal is to become a professional sports writer, scout or even general manager for an NBA team, we want to help get you there. Our top-notch editors will take your well-written article and spin it into a masterpiece, making your resume look even snazzier. Our goal is to help each and every contributor reach their long term career goals. Build a name for yourself with Redsoxaholics. - Rewards
Our top writers will achieve cool perks and rewards by producing well-thought out, highly commented and researched articles. After building up your tenure and reputation over time, you’ll have the opportunity to become one of our featured writers–a very sought after gig.
Expectations
- Stick To It
Redsoxaholics contributors are required to publish at least 1 article per week about the Red Sox. If you have the bandwidth for more, that’s great. - Quality
Our program has prided itself on providing compelling, accurate and error-free content on the Red Sox and we ask that you do the same - Engage with Readers
We can only ask that you interact and comment on users who post on your articles. - Collaborate
We’re a community of writers and we enjoy working with one another, commenting on each other’s articles and talking about story ideas, game recaps, players, etc.
If you think you would be a good fit, please email us your name, email, and a writing sample.
We also want to know about your career aspirations and why you would like to write for Redsoxaholics.
We look forward to hearing from you!
