The 2016 Boston Red Sox have hit their stride at the best possible time for this season. Looking to add momentum for a Championship run and playing excellent baseball At a record of 89-64, in 1st place and 5.5 games ahead of the second place Toronto Blue Jays as of September 23…. they are poised to close out the Division with another AL East crown during the upcoming final week( 9 exciting games to go with a Magic Number of 5).All this while sweeping both the Yankees and Orioles out of contention with consecutive 4-game sweeps! This is a feat that has not occurred since 1968! The 2016 Red Soc are undeniably Red Hot!
The high powered offense is producing runs frequently and in game winning fashion often times but with key contributions from every position. David Ortiz is being well….. the legendary DAVID ORTIZ while Hanley Ramirez has emerged as a formidable slugger even picking up Player of the Week after a few homers and game winning R.B.I’s. The Outfield is one of the best in baseball with Mookie Betts, Jackie Bradley Jr., rookie Andrew Benitendi, and a sorely missed but happily Returning Brock Holt……they’ve definitely been thrilling the crowds, and keeping the fans swooning while platooning between their trademarked victory dances.
In what looks to be a Cy Young award winning year….”Mr. Consistency” Rick Porcello has posted 21 Wins while keeping a low E.R.A. as David Price has been contributing steadily with solid innings ….In more good news Stephen Wright is looking to make a comeback in time for the post season and the bullpen has an awesome 1-2 punch in Koji Uehara and Craig Kimbrel which has allowed the team to lock down late inning leads.
Manager John Farrell has looked brilliant after struggling trough early season adversity and is certainly getting ready to prepare a 25 Man Playoff Roster as it seems all but locked up that the Boston Red Sox will get into the playoffs as either a wild card or most likely secure home-field advantage with a Division Title. Suddenly things are looking up in Red Sox Nation for another exciting Postseason show…… and so we say Go Sox Go!
